Born Rafael Ramos, Freestyle Artist CARAMELO began his ride in the music business while attending Harry Van Arsdale High School in Brooklyn, NY as part a group called "The Loco Boyz". They were more of a house/hiphop group, focusing on and writing about the issues occuring in life at that time. Afer high school ended, the members of the group went on their separate ways and aspired different goals.
CARAMELO decided to branch out and try a different genre of music and that was Latin Freestyle. He connected on several occasions with the super talented producer/remixer Freddy "The Edit" Rivera and created "You Make Me Want To Cry" and "Love Is What You Need". Both songs have appeared on several Latin Freestyle music compilations. CARAMELO also has worked with up and coming talented producer John Savino and created a Spanish song titled "Dime Que" (Tell Me That). CARAMELO also recorded two very emotional songs with the talented producer and artist Artie Rodriguez. He teamed up with Artie and created the songs "You're The Love Of My Life" and "How Can I Go On". Both songs have a lot of meaning to CARAMELO. The song "You're The Love Of My Life", was dedicated to his wife Giselle and the song "How Can I Go On", was dedicated in loving memory of his late mother Hilda.
Along his journey as Freestyle Artist CARAMELO, Rafael has met many of the Latin Freestyle Artists that he grew up listening to and admiring. He has also had the pleasure of sharing the stage with these artists. Currently, CARAMELO is once again recording new material for his great and dedicated fans.
