Jay Croz was just 5 years old when he sang for the first time in the choir at his family church, but the connection was one he’d never forget.

It was in that moment that the Queensborough native began a love affair with music that has spanned more than three decades.

“When I first sang, I realized this was what I wanted to do and it was an unexplainable, indescribable feeling,” he said.
