Known as his original stage name, Mu Double F, it stems from his childhood nickname "Muff", given by his grandmother. He later changed it to Dropout Kid (D.O.K.). Started rapping at age 9, was offered a record deal at 20 and released one major-label album (Born 2 Raise Hell, DBR, 2010) before he joined DownBottom with his own Sip Music imprint. Dropout grew up in the woods of Enterprise, MS neighborhood of the E-town Bulldawg’s. Like many who aspired to ascend from their spacious/negative environment, young Dropout found an outlet in hip-hop. D.o.k’s rise to prominence began with the Marjor Leaugue Game label, a short-lived group he formed with Crooked I, Dmo, and Hollywood, and D.Good. The all-star collective went on to establish DownBottom Records as a staple in southern hip-hop. Dok’s 2008 debut, Mississippi Bound: The Streets Must Eat, was met with a standing ovation. His major label debut, Born 2 Raise Hell (DBR), was released a year later. It was followed up with The New Guy Mixtape in 2012. Using the labels MLG & GreenHouse Records as a springboard, Dropout Kid went on to certify his status as a veritable standalone MC.
