Jay Flame

Representing the DMV, James Blackwell, better known as ‘Jay Flame’, has been rapping and producing music for over 10 years. The development of his incomparable style is the direct result of a lifetime of musical influence. Growing up in a talented musical family meant that he was always surrounded by different forms of music like; hip hop, soul, classic r&b, jazz, funk, and even band music; all of which influenced his development today. James’ musical journey didn’t begin in MD, however. Born in Georgia, and it was there that he developed his musical tastes and interests. Artists like Pastor Troy, Cee-Lo, T.I., & Timbaland had a profound influence on the direction, style, & sound of James’ music… with his own twist, of course. He produces, writes, records, and mixes all of his own music. He is a part of every step, and is in every beat.

After realizing that making music was his main goal, James began to showcase his talent in various venues across the DMV area to GA, playing at numerous gigs and making sure that his name and music were being heard by as many people as possible. Utilizing all types of networks such as; Facebook, Twitter, Bandcamp, & Reverbnation, Jay Flame now has fans all across the globe! He was quickly noted for his catchy concepts, “neck breakin” beats, and unforgettable flow… his popularity continues to grow.

After taking time off after releasing Ready 4 the Game Jay Flame is back with his latest release 'Better Than Good'. With many projects finished, and even more in the making Jay Flame promises one thing…“I’m about to hit em so hard they can't help but pay attention!
