MaeBae hails from Manila, Philippines, born into a musical family. At the age of 5, she moved to the west coast, San Francisco, California, better known as the Bay Area. While her influences are vast across many genres of music, her sound comes heavily from a deep, rooted love for East Coast hip hop and R&B. A poet by nature, writing drives her music lyrically. Through the years, she’s been developing a sound to encompass her love for both lyrical, bar heavy hitters, and smooth, sensual, harmonious vibes. Her current project, the EP called “89” is a reflection of all the facets that make up who she is as an artist. An ode to her birth year, she sheds light on both the gritty and soft sides. Her coming out album represents the beginning.
