For Savannah's rising stars T.R.U.M.P., getting to record a song written by their biggest influences is like a fairy tale come true. The No Prisoners Mixtape Volume 1, which is due July 2013, says a lot about their personalities.
T.R.U.M.P. describes their own music as fun and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. “Hip Hop music is about stories. Some of those stories can be meaningful and still be fun. We never choose a song that we can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. Our music will always reflect who we are.”
When asked about their first experience in a studio, Bones(Antonio Howard and K.G.B.(Joseph Cooper Jr.) responded, “Our producer was amazed at how we I did in the studio the first time. He said we took to it like a duck takes to water! And couldn’t believe we had never been into the studio prior to this experience.”
T.R.U.M.P.s' voices are rather developed so studio performances required little to no tuning. That doesn’t mean that they don’t seek constant improvement and constructive criticism in all areas. “You can be performers and not be artists, but we are artists. We have spent time studying and researching everything we can about the music industry and becoming artists. We are not only honing our songwriting skills, but we are also developing a total package including an image and a stage presence. This isn’t just a dream, this is a goal that we are determined to achieve and we won’t give up.”
